First date tips and recommendations for using StrangerMeetup.com.
Mom was wrong. You should talk to strangers. As often as possible. In fact, here at StrangerMeetup.com, we recommend talking to at least one stranger per day.
Why? Because strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet. Or lovers, or even spouses. Absolutely every person you know started off as a stranger. But then you struck up a conversation, and the rest was history.
Anonymous strangers are fun because you can open up completely. Share what’s really on your mind – there’s no fear of repercussion. Be whoever you want, admit your fears and passions. This is what chatting anonymously is all about.
What’s the worst that can happen? You get a dud, so you choose to chat with someone else instead.
Let’s talk about how you can make your Stranger experience as awesome as possible.
Never underestimate kindness. You’ll get what you give when it comes to online chats. If you want to talk to someone funny and kind, then you have to be funny and kind.
Kindness nurtures kindness. Please be nice to the other Strangers on StrangerMeetup.com.
We have no control over who is chatting or what is being said in the chats. We’re putting all the responsibility on you, a bunch of strangers, to behave in the chats!
Since we don’t feel comfortable giving this responsibility to minors we’ve set the minimum recommended age when chatting with strangers to 18 or above. If you are younger than 18, please talk to your parents and get their permission first.
Meeting a stranger from the chat in real life
After hours of chatting online and getting to know a Stranger you might start feeling really close to them. You get that warm fuzzy feeling inside that we all know and love.
You realize you want to meet them in real life.
Please use common sense when meeting a Stranger in real life. Be extremely cautious. Not every Stranger is an honest Stranger, we’re sorry to say. We care about your safety guys. Please, please take our advice on this.
- Never meet someone privately until you really get to know the person.
- Do some background checks. Get their real name and snoop around a little on social networking sites to make sure they are who they say they are. There are background check services that are free, but be wary of scams.
- Pick a public place for your first meeting. A cafe or restaurant is good because other people will be around.
- Let someone else know that you’re meeting a stranger and where you’ll be and for how long. Give them as much information as possible.
Or, as a friend of mine put it: when you’re meeting someone from the internet, always bring a condom & self-perception.
Go ahead. Talk to strangers. We won’t tell your mom.
