StrangerMeetup is about to Improve

Hi there, Stranger.

I’ve always loved meeting new people and making new friends. That’s a big part of the reason I started StrangerMeetup three years ago. The internet makes it so easy for all of us to connect with people all over the world, people we never would have met in our daily lives otherwise.

Three years later an average of 35,000 people are chatting on StrangerMeetup during the day. That means you have 34,999 new people you could meet!

StrangerMeetup has become one of the largest chat communities in the world. Personally I think the reason why StrangerMeetup is so popular for anonymous chatting is because it’s so easy to use.

But now it’s time to make some changes. My vision for StrangerMeetup has been and always will be is a place to make friends. I know some of you have found great friends in the chat, but I also know you may have lost connection with Strangers you wanted to chat with again.

The most important change we’re making, however, is the option to create an account on StrangerMeetup so you never lose a new friend again.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • You will be able to create a StrangerMeetup (local) account, or login with Facebook or Google. You can still be as anonymous as you wish. StrangerMeetup will never post to Facebook or Google on your behalf.
  • If you make an account you’ll be able to send offline messages without having to switch to a different app.
  • We’ve added the ability to send images, but we’ll be doing some things on the back end to make it work even better.
  • Better emoji support so you can express yourself even better. You will be able to pick the emoji that best describes your current emotion from a chart.

I’m really excited to see StrangerMeetup keep growing and improving. If you have any questions about these changes, don’t hesitate to keep in touch. Your privacy and anonymity are very important to me.

Until next time,
Andreas
